Annual
SEC Picnic at Dana Point. The
Southern California Auburn Club is a sponsor of the Annual SEC Picnic held
in Dana Point on the last Sunday in July. The Annual SEC Picnic is
attended by fans and alumni of all twelve SEC Universities. All Southern
California Auburn Club members receive an invitation to this annual
event. The 2007 picnic will be on Sunday, July 29th and will be hosted by
the University of Tennessee.
Televised
Sporting Events. The Southern
California Auburn Club organizes viewing parties
for all televised Auburn football games. If the game is televised, we are
watching. In 2006 all but two games were televised. We have locations in Los
Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties that have the equipment to receive
all regionally broadcasted football games.
Live
Sporting Events. When any Auburn
team is playing in the Southern California area, the Southern California
Auburn Club works with the University to plan events surrounding the game or
competition. As you know, in September of 2002, the Auburn Tigers played the
University of Southern California here in Los Angeles. The tailgate party
the club organized was attended by over 800 Southern California Auburn Fans.
In addition to appearances by Aubie, the Cheerleaders, and the Band, the
late Jim
Fyffe and his crew broadcasted the pre-game show from our tailgate location
!
Special Auburn
Speakers. The Southern California
Auburn Club arranges for guests from Auburn University to join us for dinner
and speaking events. Former guests have included the President of the
University, Coach's of the Auburn Football Team, and Academic Leaders from
the University.
